The location would be the high-end grocer's 12th in the state. The developer has submitted site plans for review.

OLD SAYBROOK, CT — Plans for a Whole Foods to open in Old Saybrook are moving forward. The Route 1 project will go before the Zoning Commission on Monday, The Hartford Courant reported.
The 40,000-square-foot high-end supermarket is part of a larger makeover at the Oyster River Shopping Center at the intersection of Spencer Plains Road and Route 1. Plans call for adding a 3,600-square-foot medical office and four retail spaces between 4,100 and 8,100 square feet, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.
The Carpionato Group, a Rhode Island developer, submitted site plans for the project earlier this week. It was first proposed in 2022.
