Shore Line East Summertime Schedule Expands for Sailfest, Fireworks and Lighthouse Tours

Shore Line East's latest rail schedule will go into effect on July 13, 2013, including a special schedule for Sailfest in New London and construction plans for Branford Route 1.   

This schedule will be in effect from Saturday, July 13 through Friday, August 9, 2013.

SLE will also run special trains to and from the Sailfest, Saturday and Sunday July 13-14 featuring a special fireworks train leaving New London at 11 p.m. The special train schedule can be downloaded here. 

And, since the rail company expanded its service to New London, they are providing a Saturday schedule that accommodates New London Maritime Society's lighthouse tours. 

There are boat tours, special events and lighthouse talks every Saturday, July 6 through September 7, 2013, sponsored by the Custom House Maritime Museum. 

• One-hour boat trips to New London Harbor Light (with a climb up to the lantern) on Saturdays at 11 AM, 1 & 3 PM (except July 13 - SailFest).
• One-hour Harbor Lighthouse tours at 12 noon and 2 PM. Tickets are $35 for adults, $25 children age 14 and younger.

 To accommodate Branford construction, all morning weekday SLE trains will leave stations up to eight minutes earlier than the current schedule. Branford customers will board SLE trains on the low level platform for two weeks of the construction.  See station notices posted.
