Have you ever been curious how soap is made? Did you ever want to learn? Homemade soap is a wonderful gift during the holiday season, and it is even better when you make it yourself!

Learn the art of cold process soap making while having lots of fun!
You will learn the difference between soap and a bar, the various liquids that can be used in soap making, why you need lye to make soap but how there is no lye in soap (crazy, right?!), superfatting, and much, much more!

Classes are offered for adults (18+). $60 per person.
The class will consist of a demonstration of how to make a batch of soap. Each student will be given paper instructions that we have gone over in class as well as their own personal mold of soap to bring home.

Before class, dress in clothes that you do not mind getting dirty. We work with oils, and it can stain your clothes. Have hair pulled back and take off any rings or bracelets you have on. Remember to bring an empty shoe box to place your mold into when leaving.

Note: After pouring the soap into the mold, the soap must sit for 24 hours before it is solid enough to cut. You CANNOT use the soap immediately. After it is cut into bars, the soap needs to be cured. This is a waiting period of 4-6 weeks before the soap is ready to be used.

To register for this class contact Alina Gonzalez at alinasessentials@gmail.com or 203-499-7237. We provide the molds that you leave with so we will need a headcount before class.

In order to reserve a spot, you will need to pay $30 ahead of time. Venmo is accepted.
