State Police Say 57 Arrested For DWI Over Memorial Day Weekend
Two Fatal Accidents, 59 Accidents With Injury, And 281 Accidents Statewide Over Memorial Day Weekend, Police Say.

The Connecticut State Police say that from May 24 to May 27, they investigated 281 motor vehicle accidents, 59 with reported injuries, and two that involved fatalities, one in West Hartford and one in North Stonington.Β
State police say they used both traditional and non-traditional patrol cars over the holiday weekend during enforcement operations.
Over the holiday weekendΒ troopers issued the following:
- SpeedingΒ ViolationsΒ 1,941
- Seat belt ViolationsΒ Β 718
- Hazardous MovingΒ ViolationΒ Β 4,294Β Β
State Police across Connecticut continuedΒ this enforcement operation over theΒ entireΒ holiday weekend.
"Motorists are remindedΒ as the summer months continueΒ toΒ voluntarilyΒ obeyΒ allΒ rules of the road and report any suspected drunk driver to police as this is a true emergency," police said.
