Stop & Shop Plans To Close Clinton Store: Here's When, Why

The company informed employees of the "difficult decision" last week.

CLINTON, CT β€” The Stop & Shop in Clinton will close as the company "has made the difficult decision not to renew the lease for our store," according to Stephanie Cunha, a spokesperson for Stop & Shop.

The grocery store at 215 E. Main St. is closing "as the store was not meeting financial expectations."

Stop & Shop intends to keep the store open through the end of 2026, though no exact closing date was available.
