Stranded Boaters Rescued In Clinton: Fire Officials

Crews helped rescue four people who were on a boat that struck, and became stranded on rocks, according to officials.

CLINTON, CT — Firefighters responded to more than 20 calls for service over the past few days, according to the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department.

“It's been a whirlwind of activity for the members of the CVFD over the past few days, responding to over twenty calls for service,” officials wrote in a post on the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department’s Facebook page. “Beautiful weather often brings an uptick in incidents for us, and this time was no exception. Over the last couple of days members have responded to several incidents on the water with our marine assets including removing four individuals from a boat that struck and become stranded on rocks near the Kelsey Point break wall.

“Our calls also ranged from a minor residential fire and downed power lines to providing mutual aid to Killingworth Volunteer Fire Co. for a serious motor vehicle accident. To top it all off, our members were on-site all-day Saturday for annual Clinton Summerfest and proudly attended Old Saybrook Fire Department 100th Anniversary Parade.”
