The Week Ahead: Wishes For David, World War Z, Teacher Retirement Workshop, Business Networking Meetings, Oktoberfest, Sukkot And More

Welcome to fall! Autumn arrived at 4:44 p.m. Sunday, on what felt like, for the most part, a beautiful summer day.

From here on out, it'll be shorter days, longer nights, and cooler temperatures. Here are some events coming up this week, to help you get your fall off to a great start.  

This week, celebrate the Jewish harvest festival of Sukkot with others from the shoreline by eating pizza, listening to stories, singing songs and creating crafts. The event is for people of all ages. Check out the listing to find out more.

On Tuesday, there will be a free Acupuncture, movement, and meditation event in honor of David Roberts.  Check out listings below for more information. 

Also this week, the 2013 Octoberfest at the Wharf kicks off with Chef Dion's special, four course German wine dinner. A guest speaker will present wines that have been paired with each course. Later this week, you can join others at the Mercy Center for an evening reflection on the life of Father Henri Nouwen, a spiritual writer. "Henri's life and thought, his struggles and his ability to see Divine Love at the heart of his personal darkness make him a perfect companion for our own personal spiritual journeys," according to the Mercy Center. Find out more here.
