Thursday In Clinton (And Nearby): Getting Ready For Heritage Days! Carnival! And Pearl And The Beard.
There are lots of volunteers working hard in Clinton this week to get ready for the Heritage Day Celebration coming up! Check out all the activities at the bottom of this story.
The Rotary Carnival starts Thursday at 5 p.m. at Academy Field! Check out the link below for all of the details. Also on Thursday night, you can check out Pearl and the Beard, another in a free series of concerts being offered by Madison Beach Hotel. The link for that is below as well.

Native American Smudging Ceremony and
Drumming Demonstration

Our festivities will begin Saturday morning 9:30 a.m. with a Smudging ceremony demonstration. The smudging ceremony and calling of the ancestors is what the Native American Indians would have done before any festivity would start to bring success to the celebration.

Clinton Art Society Plein Air Art Show

Clinton Art Society will be painting along the scenic Indian River. Festival attendees are encouraged to watch the artists at work. After their work is finished a “wet paint” sale will take place. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to watch a masterpiece unfold and one that you may purchase. A percentage of the sale will go toward the 350th celebration.

Gary Nolf, spear throwing champion, will demonstrate spear throwing using the atlatl—one form ofprimitive technology used locally until about 1,500 years ago when the bow and arrow were introduced in this area.
