Victim In Old Saybrook Boating Accident Identified: DEEP
The search for two missing boaters continues after a Monday night accident that left one dead and six injured.

OLD SAYBROOK, CT — A man killed in a boating accident has been identified as the search continues for two missing people.
Christopher Hallahan, 34, of Westbrook, died in the crash Monday, according to state officials.
Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) police and other agencies responded to a report at 9:15 p.m. and found a single motorboat half-submerged near Harbor One Marina.

The boat had suffered significant damage. Nine people were on the boat at the time of the crash, DEEP said. One man died, six were transported to the hospital, and two people are still missing.
As of Tuesday, the boat's operator was in critical condition.

State officials said Tuesday that they believe their mission is now a recovery effort, though they "always hope for the best," according to WTNH News-8.
The search was scheduled to resume Wednesday morning.
It's not yet clear how the accident happened.
