Victim In Westbrook I-95 Crash Was Father Of 2 Young Children
The community is supporting the family of a man who was killed by a wrong-way driver on I-95.
WESTBROOK, CT — The community is rallying around the family of a man killed when a wrong-way driver struck his car Wednesday night.
The victim in the crash was Mark Palumbo, Jr., 47, of Madison. Palumbo was the father of two children, ages 2 and 3.
He was a stylist and instructor with a career spanning 24 years, according to a GoFundMe page started by Jenn Weiss.

"(Palumbo) leaves behind his loving wife and best friend, Amanda," the page reads. "And of course Mark’s most celebrated accomplishments. 3 year old Carina and 2 year old Mia. Please help us support Mark’s family during this difficult and challenging time."
As of Friday morning, the fundraiser had generated $39,809 on 382 donations.

The fatal crash occurred around 8 p.m. Wednesday. Troopers responded near exit 65 on I-95 southbound in Westbrook.
A 2017 Cadillac ATS was driving the wrong way on the highway's southbound lanes and crashed into a 2014 Mustang GT, which Palumbo was driving.
He was declared dead at the scene of the accident. The Cadillac's driver was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours and reopened around 2 a.m., according to WFSB 3-TV. Traffic was diverted off I-95 during the closure at exit 66.
State police did not say whether the Cadillac's driver will face charges.
