Who Doesn't Love An Old Barn?
Potentially an extinct building type, the barn in Connecticut will at least have a place where it can be celebrated.

The Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation has launched a project to celebrate and preserve the state's amazing and wonderful old barns.
"Its primary goal is to make accessible the important story of Connecticut agriculture, as symbolized by its wide variety of barn types and uses, as well as to provide a nostalgia trail for all who love barns and fear their numbers in Connecticut is quickly declining," according to the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation's website.
They are kicking off the project with a Celebration of Barns weekend June 7-8, at the Bushnell Farm in Old Saybrook. On Friday at 7 p.m., is a gala hosted by honorary chair and WTNH news anchor (and Madison resident) Ann Nyberg.
Tickets are $75 per person.
A conference will be held Saturday, followed by a Hoedown. You can find all the ticket information here.
The Connecticut Barns web site is "designed to serve as a central repository for barn surveys, research and general information, images as well as other barn related resources which may retrieved by visitors, residents, scholars, and barn enthusiasts from across the country."
