2 City Men Arrested for Sale of Crack Cocaine, Risk of Injury to a Minor

Two men were arrested by Danbury police for drug trafficking, one while in the presence of four kids ages 5-17-years-old.

DANBURY, CT — Two men were arrested on Tuesday after a months-long drug trafficking investigation, according to police Detective Louis Ramos. On Tuesday, members of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (S.I.D.), Community Conditions Unit and Emergency Service Unit (E.S.U.) executed court authorized search and seizure warrants for Gerald “Hit” Rockhead Jr., 37, of Waterbury, his vehicle and a residence located at 2A High Ridge Road in Danbury.

Rockhead and his vehicle were seized on Montgomery Street in Danbury and police found him to be in possession of crack cocaine which was prepared for sale, Ramos said. Terrence Howard, 59, from Danbury, was meeting with Rockhead on Montgomery Street and police found him in possession of a crack pipe.

Rockhead and Howard were both placed under arrest and brought to the Danbury Police Department. Officers later searched the 2A High Ridge Road residence and found four children between the ages of 5 to 17. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of crack cocaine that was packaged for sale. Police notified the Department of Children and Family Services and the children were left in the care of a "suitable adult," police said.

Rockhead was arrested for possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1500’ of a housing complex, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1500’ of a housing complex, possession of drug paraphernalia, risk of injury to a child and operating under suspension. He was held on $100,000 bond.

Howard was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and released on $2,500 bond.
