Andrew Joseph Powderly, 85, Passed Away

A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Danbury on July 12, 2016.

Danbury, CT — Andrew Joseph Powderly, 85, passed away early morning of July 5, 2016 at home with his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born May 23, 1931, Andy grew up in New York City with his father Patrick Powderly, his mother Anna Phillips Powderly and his two brothers Patrick and Thomas Powderly (all predeceased).

Andy attended All Saints Catholic Grammar, St. Agnes High School and graduated from Fordham University before serving in the US Army. He began a successful career in Sales, retiring from Digital Equipment in 1992 as the Director of Digital Equipment Computer Users' Society.

Andy is survived by his loving wife Ann Curtin Powderly; his daughters Marian Liebenhaut and Maureen O'Hara; his grandchildren, Kristen Mulhall Martins and her husband Anthony Martins, Andrew Liebenhaut and David O'Hara and his two great-grandchildren. Andy also leaves behind several nieces and nephews in Maryland, Massachusetts and New Jersey.

Anyone that knew him loved him, a devoted family man with a great sense of humor and love for sports.

A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Danbury at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016.
