Danbury To Begin Curbside Live Christmas Tree Pickup
Danbury will offer free curbside pickup of live Christmas trees from Jan. 2 through Jan. 31, weather permitting.
DANBURY, CT — The City of Danbury will begin curbside collection of live Christmas trees on Friday, Jan. 2, according to city officials.
Residents are asked to place their live trees at the curb for pickup. All decorations and materials must be removed before collection, including lights, ornaments, tinsel, tree stands, plastic bags and any other non-organic items. Trees that are not fully cleared will not be collected.
The program applies only to live Christmas trees. Artificial trees will not be accepted.

Danbury’s Highway Division will conduct collections through Jan. 31, weather permitting. Officials said there is no set pickup schedule, and residents are encouraged to place their trees curbside as close to Jan. 2 as possible to ensure collection while crews are operating in their neighborhood. The service is offered at no cost to residents.
Live Christmas trees may also be dropped off free of charge by Danbury residents as wood waste at Ferris Mulch Products on Plumtrees Road. Additional information, including hours of operation, is available by calling 203-790-1155 or visiting the company’s website.
