The Cigar Republic, a retail cigar shop with an attached membership club, is nearing completion at 109 South St.
"We're supposed to be done now," said Eddie Rembrant, who has been working on the site for two months. The familiar red brick building on South Street is the former location of the Paul Mitchell Salon, which is now on White Street.
Workers were installing ceiling fans at noon Friday. After that, workers will sweep the floors and resurface them with a final finish coat. Then furniture and fixtures will be installed.
The Danbury Cigar Republic is associated with the Elmsford, NY, Cigar Republic. It bills itself as a Premium Cigar Store with a 24-hour Member's Lounge.
