Cingari Family Markets Named Business Of The Year By Fairfield Chamber Of Commerce

DANBURY, CT — Cingari Family Markets has been named Business of the Year by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, recognizing the Connecticut-based grocer’s community leadership and economic contributions.

The award was presented at the Chamber’s 79th Annual Member Recognition & Awards Dinner on June 26 at the Black Rock Yacht Club in Bridgeport. Tom Cingari Jr., vice president of produce, floral and e-commerce, accepted the honor on behalf of the company.

The recognition comes less than a month after Cingari completed renovations at the ShopRite at 1 Padanaram Road in Danbury. The site is one of 10 ShopRite locations the family owns in the state, and Cingari said he has plans to remodel all of them, as well as expand their product line.

"We've had an overwhelmingly positive response from our customers since reopening our Danbury store," Tom Cingari Jr., VP of Cingari Family Markets said. "From our expanded grab‑and‑go offerings to our fresh produce displays, shoppers are loving the new experience."

Cingari said his markets are currently exploring enhanced services, seasonal menu additions, and more digital conveniences so Danbury shoppers "can look forward to continued innovation and even more ways to make their visits easier, productive, and even more enjoyable,"

Founded in 1929 and now in its fourth generation of family ownership, Cingari Family Markets operates 10 ShopRite locations and two Grade A Markets across southwestern Connecticut. The company has invested in store renovations, workforce training, and local hiring programs, and has contributed more than $5 million to regional schools, food pantries, and healthcare providers through the Cingari Family Foundation.

In addition to the Chamber award, Cingari Family Markets was also named a 2024 Top Connecticut Workplace by Hearst Connecticut Media.
