Danbury Burglar Punched Homeowner During Break-In: Police
The accused allegedly knew a tenant living in the basement of the multi-family home.

DANBURY, CT — A city man assaulted the owner of a home he broke in to on Beaver Brook Road Sunday, according to police. Elias Madrid-Suchite, 24, allegedly punched the victim in the face at a multi-family home at around 2 a.m. Sunday.
Police say the homeowner heard someone in the basement of his home and confronted the intruder Madrid-Suchite, who threatened to beat up the homeowner. Police say they found a broken wood door that the accused used to break into the home. He was found at his Main Street apartment a short time later, and placed him under arrest.

Madrid-Suchite told police he was going to his "girlfriend's house" earlier that evening to look for her. The story was first reported by the News Times.
He was charged with burglary in the second degree, assault in the third degree, threatening in the second degree and criminal mischief. He was held on a $5,000.
