Danbury Cops Seize Crack Cocaine, $20K In Drug Bust: PD
A city man is facing multiple charges following a probe into drug sales, according to police.

DANBURY, CT — A local man is accused of dealing drugs from his home in a city housing complex.
Police on Thursday said they have arrested Darrell Jeremy Spencer Jr., 39, of 74 Fairfield Ridge Rd.
Police said they were conducting surveillance in preparation for executing search and seizure warrants at Spencer’s residence, a unit in the City of Danbury Housing Authority complex.

Detectives had been investigating the location for drug sales over the past several weeks, according to police. During roving surveillance, police located Spencer, the target of their investigation.
“Believing a drug transaction was in progress, detectives converged on Spencer’s vehicle,” police said, in an announcement Thursday.

Police said Spencer attempted to put his vehicle in reverse and speed away through a parking lot, but he ultimately stopped and was arrested.
According to police, Spencer had 17.3 grams of a rock-like substance in his possession, and it field-tested positive as crack cocaine.
Detectives immediately went to 74 Fairfield Ridge Rd. to execute a search warrant, and they seized narcotics, packaging materials and about $20,000 cash, police said.
Spencer is charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, two counts risk of injury to a child, use of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance within 200 feet of a housing project.
