Danbury Fire Department Urge Smoke Detector Checks
Daylight savings time is a great time to check your smoke detectors.

From The Danbury Fire Department
This Sunday, November 5, we will be turning our clocks back one hour. The Danbury Fire Marshal’s office would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors and CO alarms.
The number one cause of smoke detectors failing to alert occupants in a fire is dead or removed batteries. Smoke detectors have been proven time and again to save lives. When you set your clocks back on Sunday replace all your smoke detector and CO batteries. At this time we would also like to ask you to “Close your door when you snore”. Keeping your bedroom door closed will help slow the spread of smoke and fire and possibly give you and your loved ones time to get out. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Fire Marshal’s office at 203 796 1541 or stop by City Hall Monday-Thursday 7:30 – 5:30. Thank you.
