Danbury High Graduate Signs With New NFL Team: Report

Austin Calitro was a standout for the Hatters and the Villanova Wildcats.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A Danbury High School graduate has signed with the San Francisco 49ers, according to the News Times. Austin Calitro signed with the team after being waived by the New York Jets.

Calitro was a first team all-state and all-county selection for the Hatters. He led Villanova to a 32-17 record and two FCS playoff appearances.

He joins the 49ers after linebacker Malcom Smith was placed on injured reserve due to a torn pectoral muscle.
