Danbury Man Accused Of Driving 108 MPH On I-84

A Danbury man is accused of reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer, and engaging police in pursuit.

DANBURY, CT — A Danbury man faces multiple charges after allegedly driving 108 miles per hour on I-84 and refusing to stop for police who tried to pull him over, state police said.

State police said Todd Orlowski, 53, of Danbury, has been charged on a warrant with reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer, and engaging police in pursuit.

The charges stem from an incident on Oct. 27 on I-84 westbound, in a section where the speed limit is 55 miles per hour.

Police claim Orlowski ignored activated lights and sirens and ultimately eluded troopers.

Following an investigation, police said they determined Orlowski was the driver. When questioned, he allegedly told police he didn’t pull over because he was close to home and expected the officer to continue following him for questioning.

Police served an arrest warrant on Orlowski on Jan. 3. He was released on a $1,000 bond and is due to be arraigned in Superior Court in Danbury Jan. 22.
