Danbury Man Struck Child On Bicycle, Fled Scene: Police

Police say the accused was later found at the Danbury Mall.

DANBURY, CT — A city man faces charges after police say he fled the scene of a crash involving a child on a bicycle. Investigators found Tygzee Shaquel White, 21, was turning right on to Beaver Street from West Street when he struck the bicyclist, who was turning left on to Beaver Street.

Police say they responded to West and Beaver Street at 1:54 p.m. on Sept. 2 and the juvenile told police White spoke to the victim, but then got in his car and left the area. Police later found him at the Danbury Fair Mall and he was arrested.

The child was given a verbal warning and was transported to the Danbury ER for his injuries. White was arrested for evading responsibility and driving an unregistered vehicle

He was released on a $500 bond and given a court date of Sept. 15, 2017.
