Danbury Man Struck Pole, Fled Scene: Police

The accused was also driving without a license, according to police.

DANBURY, CT — A city man was arrested last week after police say he struck a utility pole and fled the scene. On Sept. 4 at 4:43 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Rose Street and Kennedy Avenue for a car that crashed into a telephone pole.

Witnesses told police they saw Juan Pablo Tarqui-Lopez, 40, flee the scene on foot. Police found Tarqui-Lopez later at his house. He was also found to be driving without a license. Tarqui-Lopez was charged with evading responsibility and driving a vehicle without a license. He was released on a $500 bond and is due in Danbury Superior Court on Sept. 15.
