Danbury Museum Announces Full Slate of Free October Events
All events are open to the public and free of charge.

From Danbury Museum:
The Danbury Museum & Historical Society will host a number of free events during the month of October. In addition to the current exhibit, Toy Time: Playful Pieces at The Danbury Museum, open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through November 5, 2016, the public is invited to the following:
- Children’s Story & Craft Time in Huntington Hall, Tuesday, October 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. This is not a drop-off event.
- Saturday, October 15 at 11:00 a.m., Monthly meeting of the Mary Wooster Chapter of The Daughters of The American Revolution with guest speaker Shazeeda Khan.
- Saturday, October 15 from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., The Civil War and Reconstruction Era Series. A Yale Open Course Video Seminar Series in partnership with The Danbury Library, Lecture #4: A Northern World View: Yankee Society, Antislavery Ideology and The Abolition Movement
- Sunday, October 16 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Charles Ives Day: A full day of activities celebrating his birth, life and music. Hosted by Larry Deming and Nancy Sudik. Visit Wooster Cemetery, The Ives Birthplace and walk the Ives Trail to the Pine Mountain Lookout.
- Friday, October 21 from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Archives After Dark: Join us in the archives for after hours research in recognition of National Family History Month. Registration required.
- Saturday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m., A Sudden Chill: Ghost Ballads performed by master ballad singer Judy Cook. Get ready for Halloween with songs, poems and ancient ballads of the supernatural.
- Saturday, October 29, from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., The Civil War and Reconstruction Era Series
- A Yale Open Course Video Seminar Series in partnership with The Danbury Library
- Lecture #6: Expansion and Slavery: Legacies of the Mexican War and the Compromise of 1850.
