Danbury Named Tree City USA For 27th Consecutive Year

The City of Danbury has once again been named as a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation.

From the City of Danbury: Mayor Mark Boughton is proud to announce that the City of Danbury has once again been named as a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation. To celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day, City Hall will be waving our Tree City flag from Earth Day to May 1st.

Danbury continues to show its dedication to tree care ordinances with an outstanding and diligent Forestry Department. To achieve the title of Tree City USA, Danbury must have a dedicated forestry division, a comprehensive community forestry division, tree care ordinances, and an Arbor Day observation.

“It is our sincere hope that residents will join us for the ceremonial tree plantings on Arbor Day,” said Mayor Boughton. “We are proud to be a Tree City USA once again, and will continue on our mission to preserve and grow our woodlands.”
