Danbury Police Nab 2 In Connection With Main Street Shooting, Brawl
The Danbury Police Department has identified two men, including a Danbury teen, involved in a brawl at the Laurel Gardens housing complex.
DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Police Department has identified two men, including a Danbury teen, charged in a shooting in the city earlier this month.
According to police, 20-year-old Amique "Bubby" Scott, of South Street in Waterbury, was arrested on Jan. 12 on assault and other weapon-related charges.
Xaquan Curry, 18, who accompanied Scott during the Jan. 12 incident at his residence at the Laurel Gardens housing complex on Main Street, was arrested on Jan. 27 after turning himself in to police.

Police were called to Laurel Gardens at around 9:45 p.m. on a report of a shooting. The tip also mentioned there was a video of the incident. Responding officers found no evidence of a disturbance during their initial investigation, a follow-up investigation by police revealed the promised video. The recording showed a group in a physical fight, leading to Scott firing a handgun at another in the brawl, according to police spokesperson Erin Henry. The gun used in the shooting has not been recovered, and no one was shot.
Scott was charged with first-degree assault, illegal discharge of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree breach of peace, and carrying a pistol without a permit. Police charged Curry with second-degree breach of peace.

Several of the other suspects were identified as juveniles and have yet to be charged with a criminal offense. At the time of his arrest, Scott was being held on a $200,000 bond before being presented to the court.
