Danbury Police: Possession within 1,500 feet of Public Housing
A Coal Pit Hill man faces numerous charges after his arrest Saturday at 1:20 p.m.

Danbury Police charged Martel Gibson, 21, Coal Pit Hill Road, Danbury, on Saturday at 1:20 p.m. with two counts of possession or transporting a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a public housing project, two counts of risk of injury to a minor and possession of narcotics. Gibson was held on a $100,000 bond.
Police said officers saw a vehicle with heavily tinted windows on Patch Street at about 1:20 p.m. Saturday. Officers stopped the car. The operator, Martel Gibson, 21, Danbury, immediately got out of the car and approached the officers. K-9 Officer Kupchok's Police Dog "Koda" who was on scene alerted on the vehicle. "Koda" then alerted and located inside the vehicle marijuana as well as cocaine in the vehicle. Gibson also had his two young children with him in his car. In addition to the above charges, Gibson was also charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of marijuana and possession of narcotics. DCF was notified and the children were released to a family member. Gibson was held on $100,000 bond.
In an unrelated case, Andres Jacome, 35, Morris Street, Danbury, was charged with disorderly conduct at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. An hour later, Jacome was charged with several counts that arose from an outstanding warrant. Jacome was charged with failure to appear, possession of narcotics and driving under the influence. Jacome was held on a bond of $25,000.
