DANBURY, CT — Police are searching for the driver of a light-colored sedan that left the scene of a crash that seriously injured a pedestrian Sunday evening on Main Street.

Officers responded around 5 p.m. Nov. 9 to reports of a car striking a pedestrian near Patch Street. When officers arrived, they found the injured person lying on the side of the road, according to the Danbury Police Department.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver involved left before officers arrived.

Investigators said the vehicle is believed to be a light-colored sedan with front-end damage. It was last seen heading north on Main Street before turning right onto North Street.

Main Street was closed for several hours while the Danbury Police Accident Investigation Team examined the scene.
