Danbury Police: Two Charged with Heroin Possession, WITS

Two Lincoln Avenue residents were charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell.

After investigating what looked like drug sale activities in the neighborhood of 36 Lincoln Ave., Danbury Police charged Shawn Pennywell, 32, of that address, and Robert Cherry, 43, of that address with numerous drug charges.

Police said members of the Special Investigations Division received information that both Pennywell and Cherry were living at this address and that both were selling illegal narcotics.  A police surveillance of this address identified an unusual amount of vehicle and foot traffic to and from the address, which was consistent with illegal drug activity.  Many of the people seen frequenting the address were known drug users and people with a violent criminal history.  As a result of the investigation, search and seizure warrants were issued by the Superior Court for Pennywell and the house.

Members of the Special Investigations Division, the SWAT Team, and the Community Conditions Unit executed the search warrants for Pennywell and the house located at 36 Lincoln Ave. Tuesday. Upon executing the search warrants, several known drug users were found within the house and quantities of heroin, crack and drug paraphernalia were found in the possession of Pennywell and Cherry.
