Danbury Republicans unanimously endorse Emile Buzaid for mayor and present a full slate of candidates for all local offices in the 2025 race

DANBURY, Conn. — The Danbury Republican Town Committee unanimously endorsed Emile Buzaid as its nominee for mayor during a special meeting Tuesday night.

The nomination received strong support from longtime members and new party participants, signaling a unified and energized Republican team heading into the 2025 municipal election.

“Emile Buzaid is exactly the kind of leader Danbury needs at this moment,” said Republican Town Committee Chairman Michael Coelho. “He has raised a family here, built successful businesses, and served the community with honesty, humility and heart. As a fellow city councilman, I have witnessed his dedication and practical leadership firsthand.”

Alongside Buzaid’s mayoral nomination, the committee endorsed a full slate of candidates for all municipal offices, including treasurer, town clerk, city council, board of education, zoning commission, and constables. The candidates represent a diverse group of business owners, educators, veterans, parents, and lifelong residents committed to public service.

Coelho said, “We’re prepared to do the hard work this campaign demands—and we look forward to serving the people of this great city. Danbury deserves leadership that listens, leads, and delivers—and that’s exactly what this Republican team stands ready to do.”
