Danbury Residents to unite at vigil for unity and justice amid increasing divisions in communities across the state.

DANBURY, CT — On Thursday, Dec 1st, a wide coalition of Danbury residents will gather at the Danbury Public Library Plaza for a candlelight vigil. This election cycle has been polarizing and divisive. It has also understandably left many in marginalized communities not feeling safe or welcomed. In response and in an effort to create dialogue and cooperation, a group of like minded individuals have together to stand in solidarity. Individuals will be coming together to show that Danbury and our neighboring communities that needs to be a welcoming place for all our residents, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, and immigration status.

WHAT: Danbury Area Vigil for Unity and JusticeWHEN: Thursday, December 1 at 5 PM - 6:30 PM

WHERE: City of Danbury Public Library, 170 Main St, Danbury, Connecticut 06810
WHO: The vigil is being organized by a diverse coalition of Danbury area community and faith based groups.

The peaceful event will include a candlelight vigil, speakers from various Danbury communities, signs and banners, and art.

This is a time for our community to come together and unite for unity and justice and stand in solidarity with our diverse communities. December 1st is specifically meaningful and was chosen as the date as it is National Rosa Parks Day, World Peace Day, and Arts Day.
