“This Sears store in beautiful Danbury Connecticut has a great history. We are proud that Sears was among the first anchor tenants when the mall opened in 1986 and helped put Danbury on the map as a retail mecca. Our members in Danbury are important to us, and as the Danbury Fair Mall continues to evolve we wanted to make sure we continue to serve them," said John Moore, head of retail for Sears.
The new store is 58,123 square feet, all on one level. Sears leased approximately 70,000 square feet to Primark, a European retailer, in 2015 which held their grand opening last month.

“This is a store that has a smaller footprint but has a lot to offer. Each day, retail continues to evolve. At Sears we are always testing and experimenting with new ways to serve our Shop Your Way members and customers," said Moore.
“This store has the power, product selection and capabilities of any of our larger Sears stores. We accomplish that through leading innovation in what we call integrated retail – bringing the best of both worlds together – the convenience of shopping online and mobile, and the physical experience of shopping in store.”
According to a release, "Sears is the only retailer that provides all 10 top appliance brands, including Kenmore. Plus Sears is the home of Craftsman and DieHard, is #1 in Home Services, with the nation’s largest fleet of expert technicians, and is the nation’s #1 fitness retailer. Sears carries signature apparel brands like Metaphor, Bongo, Canyon River Blues and the all-new Simply Styled collection."
Sears participates in a Heroes at Home campaign with Rebuilding Together that raises funds and assists military families facing hardship by making necessary repairs and improvements to their homes, including supporting many military families in Connecticut.
“The grand re-opening is just the start of more great things to come. We will continue to listen to our members and innovate and meet the needs in new and exciting ways. In the meantime, we hope the Danbury community is as energized by Sears’ fresh start as we are, and we look forward to serving them for years to come.”
