Danbury Shooting Prompts Lockdown At Two Schools

Police are still searching for the suspect, and are asking for the public's assistance.

DANBURY, CT — A shooting on the west side of the city prompted two schools to lock down Thursday afternoon, according to a Danbury Police statement. Police say the shooting call came in around 1:30 p.m. at Church Hill Road, and a 20-year-old was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The man was suffering from two gunshot wounds, one in each arm. They were described as coming from "bird-shot style ammo."

The Westside Middle School Academy and Mill Ridge Primary School were placed on temporary lockdown. The story was first reported by the News Times.
