Danbury Teen Charged With Murder: Police

The victim's family was originally told he may have suffered from an aneurism, but his death was recently ruled a homicide.

DANBURY, CT — A Danbury teenager was arrested on a felony murder charge in connection with the death of an 18-year-old on Abbott Street earlier this month, Danbury police announced Wednesday evening. Following 11 days of investigation after the death of Gabriel Bara-Bardo, Ronald Massagli, 15, was taken into custody after he was spotted on Wilson street Wednesday afternoon.

Police say they responded to a report of suspicious activity on Abbott Street on Aug. 5 and found Bara-Bardo unconscious next to his car. He later died from his injuries.

"The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled that Bara-Bardo's cause of death was from complications following blunt impact to the head and neck and the manner of death was homicide," said police Lt. Christian Carroccio in a press release.

Family members were told Bara-Bardo may have suffered from aneurism, according to the News Times. Bara-Bardo's father Jeff Bardo says doctors were able to use his son's organs to save the lives of eight other people.

Police say that other arrests are expected in this case. No further information was released by police, citing an ongoing investigation.

Massagli was charged with felony murder, robbery, criminal mischief, larceny and conspiracy to commit the charges. He was transported to the Bridgeport Juvenile Center.
