Nevertheless, our efforts to bring the Danbury Charter School to life remain undiminished. The needs of the children and the demands of the families whom we seek to serve are as important as ever. And so is our commitment to stand with them in the quest to expand public school options in Danbury. To that end, we are excited to announce that Dr. Tommy Henley has agreed to serve as the Founding Principal for our school. In addition, we have commenced renovations on our temporary quarters in downtown Danbury.
The Danbury Charter School offers the highly acclaimed International Baccalaureate program. It is led by an experienced educator with a track record of success serving diverse student populations. It will help alleviate the overcrowding that has troubled Danbury's schools for years. And it will provide a new public school building in the downtown area, at no cost to local taxpayers.
