Eversource To Install Transmission Lines In Danbury
The 3.4-mile transmission lines will begin to be installed next month.

BETHEL, CT — In a project intended to improve electricity in the area, Eversource crews will begin installing a 3.4-mile transmission line through Danbury, Bethel and Brookfield, reports the News Times. The work begins next month, and while the project initially raised concerns, first selectmen in Bethel and Brookfield said they haven't received any further complaints.
The project will run a 115-kilovolt transmission line through the three towns and improve the substations in Bethel and Brookfield. Dozens of Bethel residents attended a public hearing last fall, bringing concerns of environmental and neighborhood impacts.
Bethel First Selectmen Matt Knickerbocker said he is concerned about the trees that might have to be cut to install the line. A company representative said he was not sure how many trees needed to come down.
