The number of outages has begun to level off as Henri moves westward through the state.
Eversource officials said most residents will have their power restored by midnight Monday.
CONNECTICUT — About 6,500 homes and business are without power at noon Monday, as the remnants of Tropical Storm Henri continues to impact Connecticut.
The storm made landfall around 12:15 p.m. near Westerly, RI, further east than originally forecast. The storm moved from southeast to northwest Connecticut on Sunday evening.
Eversource officials planned for up to 800,000 customers to lose power for days, but the storm tracked further east, which prevented excessive wind gusts. Rhode Island incurred significant power outages, while Connecticut was on the heavy rain side of the storm. Most of the state's power outages were located in eastern parts of Connecticut.
