DANBURY, CT — The father of 7-year-old <a href="http://www.newstimes.com/local/article/Police-Father-admitted-smothering-Hord-12162131.php" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Gabrielle White</a> admitted to <a href="https://patch.com/connecticut/danbury/granddaughter-7-danbury-philanthropist-killed-report">smothering his own daughter</a> with a pillow to police, according to a report from the News Times. The granddaughter of Danbury philantrhopist Noel Hord was smothered after Neil White said he did not want her to grow up in a broken home. Noel Hord's daughter Michelle Hord-White had sent divorce papers to her husband one day before the June slaying. White was held without bail on a murder charge. The Hord Foundation has given more than $4.5 million in college scholarships to African-American students since 1993.
