Volunteers moved dozens of boxes of sorted books into storage on Mill Plain Road Thursday in anticipation of the annual Friend's October book sale.
The Friend's will be accepting new donations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 15 at their new sorting location at 30 Main St.
Mary Anne Frede, who coordinates volunteers for the book sale event, put together six volunteers Thursday to haul the books to Mill Plain Road. Volunteers packed cars with 15 to 20 boxes and caravanned to near the New York State line where the Farrington property is located. The books are stored in a house on that property.
The Friends of the Danbury Library are asking people with books to donate to go to 30 Main St. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 15 with their donations. Frede said volunteers will meet the drivers as they arrive alongside the building.
The friends are asking people for no donations of VHS recordings, Reader's Digest condensed books, no medical or business books more than five years old, no textbooks more than three years old, no computer books more than two years old, no magazines, damaged books or encyclopedias. The Friends thank you for your support over the years.
