HRRA 10th Annual Recycling Billboard Contest
"Reduce, Reuse & Recycle" is the focus of this year's competition which is open to all students in grades K-12.
From Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority: The Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority is currently accepting entries from students in the eleven HRRA municipalities (Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield, Bridgewater, Kent, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, & Sherman). The contest is open to all public, private and home-schooled students in grades K-12.
The theme of this year’s contest is “Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.” Artwork should educate and convince public to recycle. Entry forms are available at participating schools or at City Hall. Any teacher/organization in Danbury that wishes to participate can contact the local coordinator, Taylor O’Brien at 203-797-4511.
The deadline for the contest is February 24 th . All artwork must be submitted to the local coordinator by this deadline to be considered for submission. Winners will be picked from each grade/school. Regional 3 rd place winners for each grade will receive $25, 2 nd place winners $50, and 1 st place winners $75. The Regional Grand Prize winner will receive $150 and their artwork will be displayed for one month on a billboard in the winner’s hometown. Regional grand prize winner’s participating classroom teacher or participating organization will receive $1000 toward environmental educational needs.
