Man Shot, Suspect Crashes Car Into Police Cruiser, Danbury Police Say
The officer involved in the crash suffered injuries during the apprehension of the subject, police said.

DANBURY, CT — Danbury police said they responded to a shooting in the area of 2 Lake Ave. around 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck and provided medical assistance until EMS arrived, police said. The victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital, and his condition is unknown at this time, police added.
"Responding officers quickly gathered information regarding the suspected shooter, and his vehicle was immediately spotted in the vicinity," police said in a news release. "After a brief pursuit, the vehicle collided with a Danbury Police cruiser and was stopped on Interstate 84 West near the New York border. The subject was subsequently apprehended, and a handgun was recovered."

Neither the subject nor the victim is being identified at this time as the investigation continues, police said.
