Memorial Day Dress-Up

A team of workers (plus Owner Brian Kolwicz) from Danbury's Kolwicz Landscaping planted petunias on Main Street this week in anticipation of the Memorial Day Parade.

Kolwicz said the petunias are self-budding, so workers will only need to water the hanging baskets as the summer progresses to keep Main Street in flowers.

Main Street lights are hung with 122 hanging baskets.

"We do each one individually," Kolwicz said.

Danbury's Memorial Day Parade kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the corner of Rose and Main Street. It continues down Main Street to Rogers Park for memorials.
Before the parade, the Danbury Police Department and CityCenter Danbury are sponsoring a 5-K race starting and ending at the CityCenter Green on Ives Street.
Register from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., when the race begins.
