In Memory of L.P.N. Ruth Ann Lewis, Danbury High School Class of 1942

Ruth was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church and graduated from the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing.

Danbury, CT — Ruth Ann Lewis (Glennon) passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 30, 2016. Ruth was born in Danbury, July 3, 1924, to James and Anna Glennon (Lovely).

Ruth was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church. She graduated from Danbury High School, class of 1942, Danbury Hospital School of Nursing class of 1945. She earned her BS from Danbury State Teachers College, and her Master's degree from Connecticut Central State College. Ruth started the LPN program at Henry Abbott Technical School in 1966 with her cousin, Mary Ann Mullaney, and she taught there until her retirement in 1983.

Ruth was also loved being a Mug Wump, playing bridge and eating at her favorite restaurant JK's. Ruth is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Charles, and her brother Lawrence. She is survived by her son Bill and his wife Dorothy of Danbury, and her daughter Nancy Stavro and her husband Phillip of Hudson, NH. Her grandchildren, Kathleen Tramontozzi and husband Brian, Stephen Lewis and wife Kristina, Beth Lewis and Jessie White, Kelly Lewis, Daniel Stavro and wife Meghan, Kevin Stavro and Andrea Pate, Michael Stavro, Brian Drago, and Jason Drago; as well as ten great grandchildren. Ruth had a large circle of cherished friends and enjoyed a long and happy life.

She had many interests, the most important being her family and St. Joseph's Church 8 Robinson Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday July, 5 2016 at St. Joseph's Church with burial at St. Peters cemetery in Danbury, CT.
