Updated: Reports of Possible Shots Fired Near WestConn

Danbury police are investigating reports of shots fired near WestConn and have found the cause. The university was on lockdown.

DANBURY, CT — Update 8:32 a.m.: Mayor Mark Boughton said that the lockdown at WestConn's west side has been lifted as of 8:32 a.m. The loud noises heard were apparently duck hunters in the Lake Kenosia area.

Original post: 8:01 a.m.: Danbury police are investigating reports of possible shots fired near Western Connecticut State University, according to WLAD News. Mayor Mark Boughton tweeted Thursday morning that the mid-town campus on White Street is "is fine," and WLAD reported that the area near Stop & Shop on Mill Plain road on the west side of Danbury is beign searched.
