Fire Leaves Danbury Church A 'Total Loss'

A fire ripped through St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church Saturday afternoon.

The church is a "total loss," Mayor Mark Boughton wrote on Twitter. In another Tweet, he said there were thankfully no injuries.

The church is located at the corner of Padanaram and Station roads. The Rev. John Ciggan was seen crying outside the church as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, according to a report by the News Times.
