Traffic Delays Likely On Main Street As Danbury Officer Is Mourned: Danbury PD

For those not attending the wake of Sgt. Drew Carlson, police urge that residents seek alternate routes while traveling on Main Street.

DANBURY, CT — Police are asking residents not attending to expect delays in the area of the Green Funeral Home Thursday between 3 and 9 p.m. as friends and family say their final goodbyes to Sgt. Drew Carlson. The department urged residents on Twitter to avoid the area of 57 Main St. and to seek alternate routes.

Carlson died Sunday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound during a barricade situation in Southbury. Chief Patrick Ridenhour issued a statement Wednesday on the death of Sgt. Carlson, who served the department since 2004.

Our hearts go out to Drew's family, especially his wife, parents, siblings and his three children. We pledge our support to them not only during this immediate time of crisis, but in the times ahead. Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers."
