A Danbury elementary school reported suspicious injuries on two siblings to the state Department of Children and Families on May 29.
Two weeks later, the joint investigation by the state and Danbury Police Department's Special Victims Unit led to two arrests.
Marco Tuapante was charged on Friday with four counts of risk of injury to a minor, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of third- degree assault, and one count of reckless endangerment. He was held on a $50,000 bond.
Tara Henke was charged with two counts is risk of injury to a minor. She was held on a $20,000 bond.
