
Danbury Police reported the Citgo gas station at 300 White St., and the Subway Sandwich Shop at 317 Main St., were both robbed at knifepoint in the last two days.
Police said they responded to the Subway at 4:07 p.m. Saturday to be told a man with a mask pulled a knife on the woman inside and took an undisclosed amount of money. The witness described the suspect as a dark skin male approximately 5'8" tall. He walked away. Police said anyone with information should call the detective bureau at 203-797-4662.
A day later, police were called at 7 p.m. Sunday to the Citgo on White Street. Police were told a man came in with a mask and a knife and took an undisclosed amount of money and walked south on Cross Street. The suspect was described as being similar to the person in the Subway robbery on Saturday. Anyone with information can call the detective bureau at 203-797-4662.
In an unrelated incident, Danbury Police received a call about an accident involving a scooter at the Chestnut Street, East Liberty Street intersection a few minutes after midnight Saturday. Upon arrival, police said they saw the scooter on the ground, and a man walking away. Police said the man, Kevin Broggy, 21, tried to leave the scene. Police said Broggy refused commands by officers to stop and had to be chased down. Broggy was identified by a witness as the operator of the scooter. Broggy had an odor of alcoholic emanating from him and he failed the sobriety tests. Broggy was placed under arrest and charged with DWI, Interfering with a Police Officer and Operating with out a license. Broggy was released on a $1,000 bond with a court date of 5/29/13.
