U.S. Army Veteran, Danbury Hatter Neil C. Aiello Sr., 93, Passed Away
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 14, 2016 in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury.

Danbury, CT — Neil C. Aiello Sr., 93, of Danbury, husband of the late Ann (Silvia) Aiello, died on Sunday evening, July 10, 2016 at Regional Hospice Center for Comfort Care and Healing, Danbury.
A Danbury native, Mr. Aiello was born December 30, 1922 to Carrie (Barker) and Dominic Aiello. He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School.
A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he served in the European, African and Middle East Campaigns separating with the rank of Technical Sergeant.

In early years, Mr. Aiello was a former hatter with the former Mallory Hat Co. and later years was employed at the Federal Correctional Institute-Danbury in the administration department retiring in 1978.
A lifelong Danbury resident, Mr. Aiello was a member of the Catholic War Veterans of Danbury, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of AARP-Chapter 1067, NARFE-Chapter 2069 (National Association of Active Retired Federal Employees) and a member of St. Gregory the Great Parish, Danbury.

Mr. Aiello is survived by a daughter, Nadine Aiello McMillan and her husband, Daniel of Brookfield; two sons, Neil C. Aiello II and his wife, Susan of Sandy Hook, CT and Gene E. Aiello and his wife, Jennifer of Big Spring, Texas; four grandchildren, Gregory, Katherine, Christine and Kimberly; a great grandson, Jayson and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury.
Graveside funeral services and burial with military honors will take place in St. Peter Cemetery, Section 23, Danbury on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Deacon William D. Murphy officiating.
Contributions in Mr. Aiello’s memory may be made to the Catholic War Veteran’s Scholarship Fund, 2 Shalvoy’s Lane or to Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT, 30 Milestone Rd., both of Danbury, CT 06810.
