Western Connecticut State University Graduates on a Sunny Sunday
More than 1,100 Western Connecticut State University students became graduates Sunday on a sunny spring day that shouted Celebrate.
Western Connecticut State University students had job hunting on their minds months before graduation, but the pickings are lean.
"I applied to about 10 different positions and I heard back from three," said Kenny Tyburski, a management information systems graduate from Southbury. Tyburski said he attended a school jobs fair and he's looking for work in computer security as it relates to social media networks like Facebook. "It's a little bit frightening. All we know is school. We know homework and studying."
Nicole Tremmel, who earned a bachelor of business administration in marketing, said she's looking for a job in sports marketing. She worked as an assistant coach at New Milford High School, and she would like to turn her passion for sports into a career.

Michele Wetschko, of Easton, who earned a bacelor of business administration in management, said she attended the school's jobs fair, she's sent out resumes, but she's neard nothing.
"Nothing yet. I'm getting nervous," Wetschko said. "I care about the company I'll work for. I have to work for a company where I can grow."

Shane Jerome Williams of Stamford, said he also attended the jobs fair, he's looking for a job in accounting, but he just wants to find a job.
"I really want to get started," Williams said. "I haven't heard anything yet."
